I have been following the various budget discussions in Congress and the media and everybody says tough decisions have to be made and people have to accept tough choices. My question to you is when will the Republicans be forced into making tough choices? So far it has been all Democrats making tough choices and I need not remind you that it was Democrats and like minded Independents that elected you, not the Republicans.
And one more thing, I know how much you hate to fight but if you don't fight to save Social Security from any cuts or other diminishing of its benefits you will destroy the base you need for re-election. The only thing Social Security needs is the removal of the FICA income cap. That should be your position set in stone.
